GitHub for Windows and More with Phil Haack
In this episode, the Mash This team talks with Phil Haack, currently with GitHub, and formerly a Program Manager at Microsoft who oversaw the development of ASP.NET MVC and Nuget. Phil is part of the team responsible for shipping GitHub’s newest source control client, GitHub for Windows, which GitHub claims is the easiest way to install Git in a Windows development environment. Phil gives us an overview of GitHub for Windows, talks about several of the component libraries and tools used to build it, and provides a sneak peek at some possible upcoming features. Phil also offers some insight into the corporate culture at GitHub and what first attracted him to the company. Later, Phil and the team talk some NuGet, and discuss the progress being made on the next edition of his Wrox MVC book series.
